What technology do we use?
At Prudent Dental Care Clinic we use everyday clinical technology: digital X-rays, intra-oral cameras, magnification, an apex locator and reliable sterilisation equipment. It makes diagnosis clearer, treatment more precise and your visit more comfortable.
Our aim is preventive, minimally invasive care. The equipment is here to help us explain what is happening in your mouth and to support careful treatment, whether that is a simple cleaning, a root canal or an implant. Treatment is led by Dr. Puja Bansal (BDS), who has 27 years of experience.
Key takeaways
- We use digital X-rays, which are generally associated with a lower radiation dose than older film.
- An intra-oral camera lets you see what the dentist sees, so you can take part in your treatment decisions.
- Magnification and an apex locator support precise work during fillings and root canal treatment.
- Protective lead aprons and radiation-safety measures are used whenever X-rays are taken.
- Instruments are cleaned, pouch-packed and autoclave-sterilised as part of our daily infection control.
The equipment we use day to day
Intra-oral camera
A small wand-shaped camera lets us show you what we see inside your mouth on a screen, so you can understand a problem and the treatment options together with the dentist.
Digital X-rays
Digital sensors capture clear images of teeth, roots and bone almost instantly. Compared with older film, digital systems are generally associated with a lower radiation dose, and images can be enlarged on screen to aid diagnosis.
Apex locator
During root canal treatment an electronic apex locator helps measure the length of the canal accurately, supporting careful, well-controlled treatment.
Magnification
Magnification helps the dentist see fine detail inside a cavity or canal more clearly, which supports precise, conservative work.
Fibre-optic handpieces
Lit, fine-headed handpieces improve visibility in the working area and are designed for comfortable, minimally invasive treatment.
Lead aprons & radiation protection
Protective lead aprons and standard radiation-safety measures are used whenever X-rays are taken, in line with established radiation-protection guidance.
Sterilisation equipment
Autoclave sterilisation, pouch packing of instruments and single-use barriers are part of our daily infection-control routine. See our dedicated sterilisation page for the full protocol.
We choose tools that support accurate diagnosis and gentle, minimally invasive treatment. We do not add technology for its own sake.
How this helps your care
- Clearer diagnosis with digital imaging you can see for yourself
- More precise fillings and root canal treatment with magnification
- Lower radiation dose from digital X-rays compared with older film
- A more comfortable, minimally invasive approach where possible
- Consistent infection control for every patient
Technology and your safety
Equipment is only one part of safe dentistry. How we clean and sterilise instruments between patients matters just as much. Our sterilisation & safety standards page sets out the full infection-control routine we follow at every appointment.
If you would like to see how this technology supports a specific treatment, our restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry pages explain what is involved.
