Sterilisation & Safety
Our infection-control routine: single-use items, autoclaved instruments and proper waste handling, so every visit is safe.

How do we keep you safe?
Infection control shapes how we work. We use single-use items wherever we can, sterilise reusable instruments in an autoclave, disinfect surfaces between patients and dispose of clinical waste through an authorised route. That keeps every patient and our team protected.
We take cleanliness seriously. One member of staff handles general cleaning and is kept separate from anyone working with clinical instruments and sterilisation, so each task is done properly. These standards are reviewed by Dr. Puja Bansal (BDS).
Safety at a glance
- Fresh gloves, mask, eye protection and a head cap are used for every patient.
- Reusable instruments are cleaned, sealed in autoclave pouches, sterilised and stored in a UV chamber until use.
- New disposable needles, syringes, suction tips, cups and napkins are used for each patient and never reused.
- The chair and touch surfaces are disinfected and barrier-covered between patients; the clinic is deep-cleaned twice daily.
- Clinical waste is segregated and handled under the clinic’s Pune Municipal Corporation biomedical-waste registration.
What we do for every patient
We hold to strict sterilisation and cross-contamination controls. The same approach reduces patient and staff exposure to chemical hazards and lowers the environmental impact of treatment.
01
Fresh gloves for every patient
A new set of gloves is worn for each patient, and the team also wears a mask, eye protection and a head cap.
02
Instruments cleaned, packed & autoclaved
All instruments are cleaned with disinfectant, sealed in autoclavable pouches and sterilised. They stay sealed until use and are stored in a UV chamber.
03
Chair disinfected after every patient
The dental chair is cleaned with disinfectant after each patient.
04
Barrier covers on touch points
Surfaces and instruments the dentist touches are covered with disposable plastic barriers to avoid cross-contamination, and these are changed for every patient.
05
Single-use items for each patient
Every patient receives a fresh apron, a new disposable cup, a new disposable suction tip and a fresh napkin.
06
Regular fumigation
The treatment area is fumigated at regular intervals.
07
Twice-daily deep cleaning
The clinic is thoroughly cleaned with disinfectant twice every day.
08
New needles & syringes, never reused
Good-quality new disposable needles and syringes are used for every patient, and used sharps are rendered unusable so they cannot be recycled.
09
Imaging equipment is covered
The digital X-ray sensor and intra-oral camera are placed in fresh plastic pouches before entering the mouth; the cover is discarded after a single use.
10
A clean operatory environment
To keep the operatory clean, patients are asked to remove their footwear and leave belongings at reception before entering the treatment room.
11
Quality materials & instruments
Good-quality materials and instruments are used for every procedure.
Responsible clinical-waste handling
Prudent Dental Care Clinic is registered with the Pune Municipal Corporation for the management of hospital waste. All biomedical waste generated at the clinic is packed in colour-coded, biodegradable bags with bar-coded labels.
These bags are collected by a dedicated van and taken to an authorised incineration site, where the waste is segregated and appropriately destroyed. This means used gloves, cotton, sharps and other clinical waste never reach anyone who might misuse them.
Why this matters
Dental procedures can involve contact with saliva and blood. Careful cleaning, sterilisation and waste handling protect both patients and staff from cross-infection, which is why we put your health and hygiene first.
- Reduces the risk of cross-infection between patients
- Protects patients and the dental team alike
- Limits exposure to chemical hazards
- Lowers the environmental impact of treatment
Our equipment is used only after sufficient sterilisation, so you can focus on your treatment with confidence. See the modern technology we use and how we plan a more comfortable visit.
