What is cosmetic dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry improves how your teeth, gums and smile look. It uses treatments such as veneers, whitening, tooth-coloured bonding and reshaping, while keeping your teeth healthy and functional.
At Prudent Dental Care Clinic in Viman Nagar, cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry is led by Dr. Puja Bansal (BDS), who lists it among her main focus areas. Every smile is different. Treatment always begins with an examination so the plan suits your teeth and what you want to achieve.
Key takeaways
- Cosmetic dentistry improves how your teeth and smile look, while keeping them healthy and functional.
- Common options include porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, composite bonding, gap closure and reshaping.
- Conservative treatments such as bonding and reshaping remove little or no natural tooth structure.
- Cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry is a focus area of Dr. Puja Bansal (BDS).
- Cost is quoted individually after a consultation. There is no fixed online price.
Cosmetic dentistry services we offer
Two of our most-requested cosmetic treatments are below. Other smile improvements, such as composite bonding, are covered in the treatments section further down.
Porcelain Veneers
Thin porcelain shells bonded to the front of teeth.

During a consultation, Dr. Bansal can recommend the most suitable option for your teeth from a range of conservative, well-established techniques.
Gap closure (diastema)
A diastema is a space between teeth, often the front teeth. Small gaps can sometimes be closed by bonding tooth-coloured composite to the neighbouring teeth. Wider gaps may be better corrected with orthodontics so the result does not look too wide.
Surface defects & discolouration
Bonding can mask surface marks and localised discolouration. Layered composite is shaped and polished to blend with the natural tooth so the change is hard to see.
Small cavities between front teeth
Decay that forms between the front teeth can be repaired with a tooth-coloured filling that restores both the look and the strength of the tooth before it grows larger.
Composite veneers
Composite veneers are tooth-coloured shells built up directly on the teeth. Some patients prefer them for their flexibility. Porcelain veneers offer a different balance of strength and appearance.
Esthetic reshaping (recontouring)
Reshaping gently refines the edges of teeth within the enamel, without adding material. It suits teeth that are already a good size but slightly uneven.
Porcelain repair
A chip or fracture in an existing crown, bridge, onlay or veneer can sometimes be repaired by bonding composite to the porcelain, rather than replacing the whole restoration.
Cosmetic results depend on your individual teeth and gums, and outcomes vary from person to person. Your dentist will explain the realistic options, benefits and any limitations for your case.
Why consider cosmetic dentistry?
- Improve the appearance of stained, chipped, worn or uneven teeth
- Close small gaps between teeth for a more even smile
- Choose from conservative options that preserve natural tooth structure
- Repair minor damage to existing crowns, bridges or veneers
- Feel more confident about your smile
What about cost?
There is no single price for cosmetic dentistry. It depends entirely on which treatment you choose and how many teeth are involved. A single bonded tooth is very different from a full smile makeover. After your consultation, we give you a clear, written quote so you know exactly what to expect.
